The Katy City Council has accepted a $120,000 bid for the disposal of sewage digester solids.
The action came during this week’s city council meeting.
Council members awarded the contract to Houston-based Magna Flow Environmental based on a rate of four cents per gallon for a projected three million gallons of waste material.
The solids are a byproduct of the treatment of sewage and must be disposed of in accordance with state and federally mandated standards.
The Magna Flow bid was the lowest of three proposals received. The other bids included:
- K3BMI – $125,700
- Terra Renewal – $141,600
In other action, council members also approved an agreement with the accounting firm of WhitleyPenn to conduct the annual audit of city finances for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30.
WhitleyPenn recently acquired the accounting firm of Null-Lairson, which has conducted the city’s audit in recent years.
