Waller County DA Releases Name of Attorney Involved in Chase, Charges Filed

The name of the prominent attorney who led Waller County law enforcement officers on a chase along Hwy. 290 earlier this month has been released.

Waller County DA Elton Mathis yesterday filed charges of reckless driving against local attorney Larkin Eakin.

Eakin, who practices law in both Houston and Waller County, is expected to turn himself in sometime today.

Only hours before the charges were announced, InstantNewsKaty reported that the lack of charges – and the failure of authorities to identify the suspect involved – had resulted in some Waller County residents suggesting a cover-up was involved.

According to a Waller County Sheriff’s Office offense report, Eakin led multiple law enforcement officials on a chase along Hwy. 290 just before 2 a.m. July 1.

He was ultimately stopped by pursuing officers, but until yesterday no charges had been filed and Eakin’s name had not been released.

On the night of the incident, Eakin was taken to a hospital to have a blood sample drawn instead of being booked into jail. Those circumstances led to a number of Waller County residents to wonder if Eakin was receiving preferential treatment and that the incident was being covered up by county officials.

No additional information was immediately available on why it took almost four weeks for the charges to be filed.

Attempts to reach Eakin for comment have been unsuccessful.

If this had not been exposed by the media this would have been swept under the rug by the incompetent and inactive DA Elton Mathis. Was not Eakin the DA in Waller County at one point? I might be wrong about that. If this was not preferential treatment then what was it? I read one report where DPS used a shotgun to stop him. Law enforcement is shooting at someone and they do not go to jail? The DA office and the Sheriff should both be fired for dereliction of duty and jepordizing the public safety by releasing this person.

      babytiger,

It’s too bad we need flashlights when dealing with the KISD School board.

      Have a great weekend.

LOL babytiger now this is how we have a conversation here.

As you are well aware I am not the best at presentations. I found this article that even though it pertains to California politics it does explain the errors of the Foundation and what many politcians in our country are doing to take the voice of the people away.

This also explains a little why this KISD Foundation may be illegal. I am not accusing just saying we need to look into this issue. One thing that many don’t take into account. We can correct mistakes and shut this foundation down completley if it is found to be illegal. It is my opinion the community will understand that people are deeply researching now in our country and we need to sometimes correct errors such as this one, I believe the foundation may have possibly be a legal mistake for our community.

Breach of fiduciary duty is the activity that may have been done with the foundation.

I’m not an expert just putting this one out there to see if anyone understands this more than I or may be an expert.

What are your thoughts babytiger? Anyone one else have an opinion?
      Thank you for your time.

Dmom, even though this is in the wrong thread I too would be interested if someone can show it is illegal over just stating they think it is… There is a difference between not liking, not agreeing and not being legal… You’ve researched more than I so I’ll have to do a little catchup…

          Thank you babytiger,

Also don’t you find it strange that with all the free vaccinations being given out today are being performed by Christus. The significant link is Mr. Frailey. I believe he is on their hospital board. LOL and a funny link is that they receive federal grants to give these vaccinations just like the foundation is going after grants.

Nice metal signs for one day also posted around town for these vaccinations on or near school property. They would have had to have permission to do this I believe.

HMMMMM just looking at the whole picture as it emerges. LOL

          • babytiger says:

So you’re saying that Christus wouldn’t be providing free, government funded vaccs if Frailey wasn’t on the Board? Wow, that’s some stroke right there…

I thought the foundation was going after corporate donations that are generally outside of the scope of our booster clubs and like organizations… Bigger dollars from bigger donors and the like… I guess I need to read up on that a little…

I can put a sign up anywhere I want and expect no one to say anything for 12-24 hours… It takes that long for someone to report it, for them to find out who to complain to and for any contact with someone responsible for removing them (or just to go pick them up)…

          babytiger,

What I am saying is that this looks like a conflict of interest. If one of the KISD teachers was involved in something in opposition to what a member of KISD administration believed they would make this a “federal offense”. LOL If these instances are pointed out to you as I did you are going to see a pattern emerging. There is nothing wrong with what is happening except the appearance that there is more happening behind the scence.

You have often asked why others on here are in opposition to what you are saying. I am just going to point out obvious things to you in the future that will start to add up for you.

Notice in my post I just asked if it was strange to you. No accusations. Just questioning what I noticed.

As for the Foundation they are not denied going after federal or other agency grants by the MOU. This was left open and is a fidiciary duty of the KISD administration. :)

          Have a great afternoon.

But wait how funny it is that he does manage to find something on people that are in the way.
