Deborah Stewart, the assistant superintendent for student services, has been named associate superintendent for human resources and student services for Cy-Fair ISD.
Human resources and student services operations were previously led by associate superintendent Teresa Hull.
Hull has assumed the responsibilities of the recently-vacated position of associate superintendent for governmental, community and planning initiatives.
With 28 years of experience in education, Stewart began her career by teaching at Cy-Fair High School for seven years. After a two-year stint as a counselor in Klein ISD, she returned to Cy-Fair ISD to serve as an assistant principal for six years.
Stewart was then promoted to director of student services, a role in which she served for eight years prior to being named assistant superintendent of student services prior to the 2007-‘08 school year.
Stewart received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University and is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of Houston.
“I feel excited and fortunate to begin this new chapter of my career with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD,” Stewart said. “I look forward to leading two outstanding departments toward continued success.”
