The popular fast-food franchise Chicken Express has announced it will open its first Katy-area location in Cinco Ranch early next month.
The new Chicken Express will be located near the southwest corner of South Fry Road and Westheimer Parkway in the Cinco Ranch Village Square development.
The franchisee, Traditional Family Foods, also announced plans to open several restaurants in the greater Katy and West Houston areas, and in other communities west of Interstate 45.
“Greater West Houston and Katy match the company’s focus on demographics and community size,” Nick Schirripa, Traditional Family Foods’ area managing member, said. “From a population standpoint, the West Houston-Katy area fits the mold perfectly. We strive to be known as a community-oriented, family-oriented business with excellent customer service.
Schirripa said his company selected Cinco Ranch for the first location, but there are a number of other viable sites for opening other restaurants.
“Chicken Express’ long-term business plan ensures significant investment and meaningful job creation for a key segment of the region’s workforce,” Lance LaCour, president and CEO of the Katy Area Economic Development Council said.
The Texas-based restaurant franchise has locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Georgia.
