Faith West Academy has announced they will be hosting a July session of Houston’s AD Players’ Theatre Arts Academy Camp.
After a successful week of AD Players’ theater camp in June, many of the campers requested “more drama in Katy.
As a result, one of Houston’s largest resident theater companies and Katy’s Faith West Community partnered together to add one more week of this popular camp to take place July 16 – 20. Hours for the camp will be 4 – 7 p.m.
Spots are still available and registration can be made by going to www.faithwest.org, selecting “summer camps,” and then selecting the AD Players’ logo.
The camp is taught by theater professionals from AD Players focusing on the art and technique of theatre. Stephen Hurst, the theatre academy’s director. Said he was enthusiastic about partnering with Faith West for the summer theater camps.
“We have many requests for classes in Katy, and we finally found a partner out west to help us respond to those requests,” Hurst said.
Kirk Rightmire, education director of the school, agreed.
“Faith West actively looks for opportunities to partner with the Katy community by offering a variety of classes, camps and community driven events. This partnership with AD Players’ Theater Academy is a perfect fit,” Rightmire said. “We are extremely excited about working with AD Players’ Theater Academy and invite West Houston and the Katy community to participate.”

Meanwhile, Faith West Academy, a K-12 private, Christian school with thirty years of roots in Katy is excited to host these summer programs. The Faith West Community strives to create a place where families can participate regardless of where their children attend school.
