Waller County Recycle Center Collects 250,000+ Pounds of Material in 2011

The Waller County Recycle Center had a record year in 2011, processing more than a quarter-million pounds of recyclable material.

Facility manager Jim Meader reported collecting 179,095 pounds of baled material consisting of mixed paper, plastic, aluminum and cardboard.

By month, the collection totals were:

In addition, the center collected more than 16,000 pounds of steel cans and steel scrap, 50,000+ pounds of glass bottles, and some 4,500 pounds of e-waste.

Meader reported most of the recycled material came from Katy’s 77493 Zip Code.

The Waller County Recycle Center is located at 32159 Morton Road.

    This is a great and valuable service for the community. I have gotten rid of everything from broken equipment to boxes. I applaud the county and it’s residents for getting this done.
