Details remain sketchy about an incident in which a man was wounded in an early morning shooting at a Katy-area motel.
Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Motel 6 at Mason Road and the Katy Freeway around 2 a.m. to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The wound was called “life-threatening.”
The victim, whose name has not been released by authorities, was LifeFlighted to Memorial-Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Deputies initially thought the man’s girlfriend might have been involved in the shooting, but are also investigating reports several other people were present when the shot was fired, but those people fled the scene before authorities arrived.
No further details on the shooting have been released and no one has yet been charged.
Deputies are continuing the investigation.
