STORM UPDATE
Tropical Storm Hermine is likely to make landfall early Monday evening in northern Mexico, according to an update issued by the Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management.
After making landfall, the storm is expected to track through central Texas, resulting in an expected heavy rainfall event for much of the state, including the Katy area, over the next several days.
A flash flood watch continues for parts of the Katy area, including Fort Bend County, through 7 p.m. Tuesday. One to three inches of rain are likely to fall. Higher rainfall total are possible in some isolated locations.
Residents are urged to monitor local media for updates.
