Observant Neighbor, Quick Work By Deputies Land Two Burglars In Jail

An observant neighbor and quick work by Fort Bend County sheriff’s deputies landed two men in jail for burglarizing a Parkway Oaks residence Saturday evening.

Deputies were called to a residence in the 25300 block of Pepper Sage Lane at 10:21 p.m. after a witness saw the suspects leaving the backyard of a neighbor’s home.

The witness called authorities after seeing the suspicious duo run toward a blue Audi sedan parked nearby and then fleeing the area.

The first arriving deputy entered the back yard of the home and saw several televisions and computer monitors on the ground. The residence also had a broken back window.

The deputy immediately notified other nearby patrol units of the suspect and vehicle descriptions provided by the witness. 

While searching the neighborhood and surrounding area, deputies located the blue Audi Sedan near the intersection of Scottsbury Court and Windemere Park Lane and detained two male occupants.

The suspects were found to be in possession of the homeowner’s laptop computer and stereo equipment.  Additionally, they were found to be in possession of an unknown type handgun and a controlled substance.

The pair has been identified as Randall Taylor Burcaw, 19, and Ezekiel Jordan, 22. Both are from the Katy area and are being held in the Fort Bend County Detention Facility. 

Burcaw is facing charges of burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony; felon in possession of a firearm, a third-degree felony and possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor.

Jordan is facing charges of burglary of a habitation.
