With development continuing in the Katy Main Street project, city council has approved the installation of several new stop and yield signs on streets within the up-and-coming shopping district.
During this week’s meeting, council members approved an ordinance adding two new stop signs and four additional yield signs.
The stop signs will be placed:
- Northbound on Main Street at the IH-10 eastbound connector road, and
- Southbound on Main Street at Kingsland Boulevard.
Yield signs were approved:
- Westbound on Nelson Way at the center fountain traffic circle,
- Southbound on Main Street at the center fountain traffic circle,
- Eastbound on Nelson Way at the center fountain traffic circle, and
- Northbound on Main Street at the center fountain traffic circle.
The ordinance, which was recommended by city administration, directs the city’s public works department to install the signs.
The new signs were approved on a unanimous vote.
