As the first storm of the 2010 hurricane season churns in the Gulf of Mexico, emergency preparedness will be a prime topic at tonight’s Weston Lakes City Council meeting.
As part of her monthly report, Mayor Mary Rose Zdunkewicz is scheduled to discuss hurricane preparedness in the city.
Zdunkewicz will also announce upcoming city budget workshops in July and August, as well as upcoming July 4th festivities.
Councilman Clifton Aldrich, who also serves as the city’s emergency management coordinator, will also discuss hurricane preparedness as part of his report.
Other items on the city council agenda include taking action on an emergency service contract, possible approval of emergency CERT door hangers and approval of expenses related to the city’s July 4th parade.
The city council meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Simonton City Hall, 35011 FM 1093.
