LaCenterra To Celebrate Independence Day With Big Backyard Barbecue

LaCenterra in Cinco Ranch will once again mark Independence Day with its annual Big Backyard Barbecue.

Festivities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and will include live entertainment, food, events for kids and a fireworks display.

Katy Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9182 will once again host the Patriotic Outlet, offering “all things red, white and blue” for sale. All proceeds will benefit the post’s programs and activities for active and retired military personnel and their families.

The VFW will also have several large banners on which residents can say “thank you” to a solider. The banners will later be presented to area VA hospitals.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase from LaCenterra restaurants and specialty retailers. Fish City Grill, Nestlé Toll House Café and The Wine Next Door will offer courtyard service. Picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted, but no outside alcohol will be allowed.

The event will also include an expanded Kids’ Zone with a red, white and blue bounce house, face painting, clowns and treats from Nestlé’s Ice Cream On The Go-Cart.

Live music will be provided by REWIND and Eleventh Hour.

The fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Overflow parking will be available courtesy of Cinco Ranch High School and Cinco Ranch Junior High.

Katy-area Boy Scouts will again serve as LaCenterra’s ambassadors, providing assistance and volunteer support throughout the event.

The Big Backyard Barbecue is made possible with the support of its sponsors, including Amstar Group, Cross Creek Ranch, Katy Magazine, Members Choice Credit Union, Kasasa, Encore Group, Katy Area Chamber of Commerce, Katy Hand & General Surgery, P.A., Tejas Contractors, Inc., The Vista Companies, BounceU and FASTSIGNS of Katy.
