Rev. Robert A. Crutchfield, founder and chief chaplain of Katy-based Christ 4 Responders, has been named to the board of directors of the Chaplain Fellowship Chaplains Corps.
Crutchfield is also chaplain of the Katy Fire and EMS Department.
In his new role, Crutchfield will be responsible for providing advice and direction to the organization, as well as its members across the country.
The CFCC is an affiliate ministry of Chaplain Fellowship Ministries International. The aim of the organization is to establish a nationwide network of chaplains and ministries who can assist people in times of crisis.
Much like the Salvation Army or the U.S. Corps of Chaplains, the group is takes its structure and uniforms from the military’s example. However, the CFCC stresses they are not part of the military or any government agency.
Crutchfield will hold the initial CFCC rank of major general.
The group is relatively new and Crutchfield and the other board members are currently working on the member’s manual, uniform regulations and other organizational issues. They are also beginning the task of setting up units in various parts of the country.
Crutchfield’s Christ 4 Responders organization is a local ministry serving fire, police and EMS personnel. He is also religion blogger for Absolutely! Katy magazine and, beginning in August, author of the “Storms of Life” column for Katy Christian Magazine.
