The Wings of Freedom Tour of World War II warbirds is coming to the Houston Executive Airport.

Located between Katy and Brookshire, the airport will host the collection of vintage military aircraft March 17-19.

Included in the tour will be the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress “Nine O Nine” heavy bomber, the Consolidated B-24 Liberator “Witchcraft” heavy bomber and the P-51 Mustang “Betty Jane.”

The B-24 and the P-51 are the sole remaining aircraft of their type in the world.

Those attending the tour will have the chance to explore the aircraft – inside and out with guided tours and even flight opportunities. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Proceeds are tax deductible and used to keep the vintage aircraft flying.

Those attending can book a 30-minute flight aboard either of the bombers for $425 per person. Additionally, visitors can even get some “stick-time” in aboard the P-51 for $2,200 per half-hour or $3,200 for a full hour.

The Wings of Freedom Tour will arrive at the Houston Executive Airport at 2 p.m. March 17 and will be on display at the main ramp. Hours of tours and public display will be 2 – 5 p.m. March 17, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. March 18 and 9 a.m. – noon March 19.

The flight experiences are typically scheduled immediately before and after display times.

The Wings of Freedom Tour travels the nation as a flying tribute to the flight crews who flew the aircraft, the ground tours who maintained them, the workers who built them and the fighting men they helped protect.

The nationwide tour is in its 21st year and annually visits an average of 110 cities in 35 states.
