The long-awaited bridge on Kingsland Boulevard over Willow Fork west of Pin Oak Road is now complete, and area officials celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

BRIDGE NOW OPEN – Officials from WoodCreek Development, the City of Katy, Fort Bend County and the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce mark the opening of the Kingsland Boulevard bridge over Willow Fork with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The bridge opened last week and now connects Kingsland from Barker Cypress through to FM 1463.
The project was a joint effort between WoodCreek Development, the City of Katy and Fort Bend County.
The bridge and western extension of Kingsland were paid for by WoodCreek, while the eastern extension of Kingsland – formerly called Medical Center Drive – and paving, drainage and water improvements were funded jointly by the City of Katy and Fort Bend County.
At last week’s meeting, the Katy City Council officially accepted the bridge at the recommendation of City Engineer David Leyendecker.
Those taking part in the ribbon cutting ceremony included Robert Anthony, Larry Boudloche, Mason Evers, Hall Henderson and Troy Maxwell with WoodCreek Development; Ann Hodge and Kerry Gilbert from the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce; Carol Adams, Ken Berger, Missy Bunch, Mayor Don Elder, David Leyendecker, Johnny Nelson and Steve Pierson representing the City of Katy and Fort Bend County Commissioner Andy Meyers.
