The parade will take place starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb.27.

Club members and volunteers will walk the parade route to hand out flags to local children. This will be the fourth year the club has given out the flags.

The club plans to distribute some 2,000-4,000 flags to the expected 3,000-4,000 people lining the parade route.

The rodeo parade will start at the west gate of Rhodes Stadium, turn south on Katyland Drive and the go west on U.S. Hwy. 90 to Katy High School.

Established in 1981, Project “Give A Kid A Flag To Wave” was designed to encourage citizenship and patriotism among the nation’s young people.

The Katy Exchange Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at Vida Loca Mexican Bar and Grill, 21810 Kingsland Blvd.
