The program, known by the acronym HYPE, is part of an overall partnership between Morton Ranch High School, Houston’s Alley Theatre and the Wood Group.

The partnership features a host of workshops for theatre students, including: a Playwriting 360° residency, backstage tours, participation in Alley Theatre’s annual career day, and a trip to Alley.

Through Playwriting 360⁰, a multi-curriculum program combining creative writing instruction with theatre classes, students were asked to write and perform a 10-minute play. White’s “Tide” was selected from this project and will be one of only six youth plays to be read and performed by the theatre group this spring.
