Shown accepting the award are, from left, Cheerleader Sponsor Amy Weaston, Band Director Damon Archer, Seven Lakes Senior Justin Pishkar, Athletic Coordinator Kevin O’Keefe, Principal Christie Whitbeck and Dance Team Director Kristine Copeland.
The luncheon was presented by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Seven Lakes High School took home the Houston Touchdown Club’s Top Sportsmanship Award, with Cinco Ranch coming in third. Katy High School was also listed as a semi-finalist this year.
Event organizers said the sportsmanship honors speak volumes about the community since it is not only based on the attitude of coaches and athletes, but that of the referee squads, parents and support groups. High schools from across the greater Houston area are judged for the award.
The Houston Touchdown Club’s Sportsmanship Award is judged by members of Houston’s chapter of the Texas Association of Sports Officials.
