New Principals Named For Cinco Ranch, Mayde Creek Junior Highs

During Tuesday night’s meeting, the Katy ISD Board of Trustees approved new principals for Mayde Creek Junior High School and Cinco Ranch Junior High.

 

The school board unanimously approved Elizabeth Kuylen’s appointment as principal at Cinco Ranch Junior High and Tory Hill to serve at Mayde Creek Junior High.

 

Kuylen has spend a majority of her career in the Katy school district, most recently serving as principal of Jo Ella Exley Elementary in Cinco Ranch since 2004. Prior to that, she was principal at Nottingham County Elementary for four years.

 

In addition, Kuylen was an assistant principal at Roosevelt Alexander Elementary (1998 – 2000), Edna Mae Fielder Elementary (1997-1998) and T.H. McDonald Junior High (1993-1997).

 

She began her career as a junior high mathematics teacher, serving at Katy Junior High from 1986 to 1992 and then at Deepwater Junior High in the Deer Park ISD from 1992 to 1993.

 

Kuylen has a master of education degree from the University of Houston and holds a mid management certificate.  

 

Hill has been serving as an assistant principal at Cinco Ranch High School since 2006, first as a grade assistant principal and then as an instructional assistant principal.

 

Additionally, Hill was a summer school assistant principal in 2008, a social studies teacher at Mayde Creek Junior high from 2005-2006, a social studies teacher and substitute assistant principal at Coral Glades High School in Florida from 2004-2005, social studies teacher and administration intern at Thomasville High School in Georgia and as a special education teacher at Howard Middle School in Florida in 2002.

 

Hill is a doctor of education candidate from Texas A&M University. He holds a master of education degree from Florida A&M University.
