The Katy City Council will meet tonight in regular session, followed by a joint workshop with the city’s convention and tourism bureau.
The council meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. The joint workshop will be held following the council meeting.
Both meetings will take place in the city council chambers at the Katy Municipal Complex.
Council members will consider a contract with Fort Bend County MUD 37 to provide an emergency water supply. The contract would be for a five-year period.
The council will also consider two resolutions, one creating an airport zoning board and the other supporting improvements to FM 1093 in Fort Bend County.
Additionally, Mayor Don Elder, Jr., will issue a proclamation declaring May as “Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month” on behalf of the Patriot Guard Riders.
During the workshop, the council and members of the convention and tourism bureau will hear a presentation on the proper usage of local hotel occupancy taxes. Scott Joslove, president and CEO of the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association will make the presentation.
