TACO TRUCK ROBBERS - Fort Bend County sheriff's detectives have released this sketch of the two suspects believed to be responsible for a series of taco truck robberies.
Fort Bend County’s taco-truck bandits may have struck again over the weekend.
The most recent robbery occurred Friday at about 1:15 p.m. near the intersection of Katy Gaston Road and Cinco Ranch Boulevard.
Fort Bend County Sheriff’s officials hadn’t yet conferred with detectives Monday morning and couldn’t provide details, but indicated the incident may have been the work of the duo police have been seeking since at least February.
Detectives have said they believe the same two men have robbed workers operating taco trucks in the Katy-Cinco Ranch area at least five times over the past nine months. Friday’s robbery, if related, would mark the sixth.
On Nov. 4, two women had parked a taco truck near a construction site on Cinco Ranch Boulevard and were working inside the truck when two men appeared.
One, armed with a handgun, pushed his way into the truck and forced the women to drive to a spot near Cinco Terrace and Spring Green, where the second robber waited in a late 1990s model blue SUV.
The men stole personal belongings from the women, and took the cash from the taco truck before fleeing in the SUV.
Detectives later released sketches of the two robbery suspects.
One suspect was described as a tall, “long-faced” light-skinned Hispanic man with straight black hair. He is about 20-23 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 150 to 170 pounds. He was wearing gray pants and a white T-shirt.
The other suspect was described as a “found-faced” Hispanic man with a dark complexion and long, dark hair tucked under a dark cap. He is 25-30 years old, 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and weighs about 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue T-shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information about the suspects or the incidents is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-8477, where calls are handled anonymously, or the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at 281-341-4665.
